Alex Joshua Wright, age 24, of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away on November 2, 2026, in his hometown. He was born on August 7, 2002, in Vincennes, Indiana, and lived his life with a warm spirit, a kind heart, and a personality that left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Alex graduated from high school and carried with him the values of hard work and family. He worked as a cook at Buffalo Wild Wings, where he enjoyed the kitchen and put his energy into the food he prepared. Cooking was one of his greatest interests, and he especially loved making hot wings. Those who knew him best will remember that he could make quite a mess in the kitchen while cooking, but that was part of his charm and enthusiasm. He approached the things he loved with energy and joy, and he found happiness in creating something good to share with others.
In addition to cooking, Alex enjoyed camping, video games, being outside, and playing pool. He appreciated time spent in activities that allowed him to relax and enjoy the company of others. When he was younger, he was a Cub Scout and played t-ball, experiences that reflected his early involvement in the community. He was also active in his church when he was younger, attending Calvary Apostolic Church in Lawrenceville, where he was surrounded by faith and fellowship. During his high school years, he was also involved in art club.
Alex will be deeply missed by his mother, Karen “Pond” Horrall of Vincennes, Indiana; his stepfather, Christopher Ivers of Vincennes, Indiana; and his sister, Maddy Grace Horrall of Vincennes, Indiana. He is also survived by his uncles, James Pond of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Brent Pond of Lawrenceville, Illinois; his aunts, Stephanie Sprinkle of Vincennes, Indiana, Andrea Pond of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, and Abby Cornwell of Lawrenceville, Illinois; his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Jannette Pond of Lawrenceville, Illinois; his paternal grandmother, Diane Frazier of Lawrenceville, Illinois; and his paternal stepgrandmother, Becky Wright of Lawrenceville, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his father, Josh Wright, and his paternal grandfather, Leonard Wright. Though his time on earth was far too brief, Alex’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be remembered for his enjoyment of life’s simple moments and the many ways he brought warmth and personality to those around him.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Vincennes Chapel. Following, Alex will be cremated, with a celebration of life held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the family to defray funeral expenses. Online condolences and fond memories may be shared at www.fredrickandson.com. Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes, Vincennes Chapel, is honored to be entrusted with Alex’s arrangements.
