8th District Congressman Mark Messmer is seeking his second two-year turn in office on today’s Election Day. The Republican Messmer was elected two years ago to take the place of former Republican Representative Larry Bucshon.
He faces Democrat challenger Mary Allen. Allen is an Evansville City Councilwoman who won in the Democrat primary for the right to challenge Messmer this year.
All of Indiana’s nine Congressional seats are up for election today. This is Indiana’s off-year for U-S Senate races; there will be U-S Senate elections in the next two election cycles, and 2028 and 2030.
