The date for intensive work on Washington Avenue Phase Two is coming closer. That street is set for closure early next year for extensive renovation. The work will happen on Washington Avenue from Emison up to, and including, the intersection with Saint Clair Street.
Vincennes Water Utilities is one of the utility crews working as part of that overall project. V-W-U general manager Kirk Bouchie says that corridor is extremely important for local traffic. Bouchie also mentions that street’s importance to non-motorized traffic as well.
That part of Washington Avenue, including its intersection with Saint Clair, will be closed to through traffic as part of the work. However, local traffic living on that stretch will still have access to their homes and businesses during the construction.
