The North Knox School Board got a review of the proposed North Knox budget for the coming year. North Knox Schools Superintendent Darrell Bobe reviewed an estimated 18 million dollar budget for the coming year. The budget includes just over ten million dollars in Education funding for the coming year. Another 5.8 million is in the Operations fund, with two million more in debt service.
During the session, Bobe told the Board once the final property tax rate is set, it will probably be around 50 cents per one hundred dollars in assessed property value. That is a slight increase from a year ago, but Bobe expects that rate to keep the Corporation solidly within the lowest school corporation tax rates in Indiana.
The North Knox School Board will consider approving the final budget numbers next month. After that, it will be reviewed and adjusted as needed by the Indiana Department of Local Budget Finance.
