A change has been announced to Friday’s Girls Golf sectional at the High Pointe Country Club in Bicknell. Due to expected excessive heat on Friday, the sectional will tee off at nine a-m.
In Volleyball:
The South Knox Spartans lost in three sets to Barr-Reeve. The Lady Vikings took the match 25-16, 25-11, and 26-8. Braelyn Gladish and Shelbi Carie each had 15 digs in the game, while Brooklyn Flanigam scored five kills and Natalie West scored four kills. South Knox is 11-5 overall on the year.
The North Knox Lady Warriors fell in three sets to Loogootee. The final scores were 25-23, 25-9, and 25-4. Jersey Sturgeon scored 12 digs, with Baylie McCoy scoring four service points.
In tennis:
Vincennes Lincoln defeated Washington 3-2. Winners included Bronx Carter and Bennett Kirwer in singles, with a doubles win from Gabe Vasquez and Luke Clark. The match was tied 2-2, when Carter won his match in three sets to give LHS the overall victory.
In middle school sports:
Clark Middle School 7th and 8th grade were both defeated by Castle Middle School. Castle took the 7th grade game 8-0Tyson Allen led with 25 rushing yards, and 18 passing yards.
The 89th grade were defeated by Castle 28-12, Heath Boger caught a touchdown pass from Collim Smith, while Anthony Bourdet ran for the other score.
