The Vincennes City Council has approved a resolution concerning a possible water and sewer bond issue through Vincennes Water Utilities. The vote was three to three, with Mayor Joe Yochum casting the tie-breaking vote to approve the resolution. At this time, no specific bonds have been formalized or forwarded by the Utility Services Board.
In comments made last night, Vincennes Water Utilities attorney Graham Dycus says the approval was not for the bonds, or for any utility increase. The three votes against the motion were from John Stangle, Ryan Lough, and Marc McNeece. In his comments, McNeece admitted being uneasy about the issue as presented last night.
Council president Brian Grove, Ryan Ashby, and Regina Blinn voted for the resolution. Again, at this time, Vincennes Water Utilities officials have not approved either a bond proposal or a rate increase for City Council review or possible action.
