Vincennes’ newest park will be dedicated today at the north end of the Vincennes Riverwalk. Minooteeni Park is a celebration of the history and legacy of various Native American tribes that called this area home.
Two Native American speakers, whose tribes once lived in this area will speak later today. Burgundy Fletcher represents the Piankeshaw tribe, while Logan York will represent the Miami Tribe. Both are Oklahoma natives. Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum will also speak this afternoon at the ceremony. The public is encouraged to attend the free event.
