The United Way of Knox County is reporting the opening of five different cooling centers in Vincennes, due to heat advisories this week. The places will offer those in need a safe, air-conditioned place to cool off.
The locations include the First City Sunrise Shelter, the Knox County Public Library, the Margaret Compton Center, and two downtown Main Street locations—the STOA, and Thursday Church. Additional cooling centers may be found by calling 2-1-1.
Anyone in need ot an air-conditioned place is encouraged to use one of these cooling centers as needed during this week’s hot weather.
