The National Weather Service says the Wilfred area of Sullivan County was hit with an EF1 tornado on Sunday.
The twister had peak winds estimated at 100 miles an hour and was on the ground for about 2.7 miles.
The tornado touched down west of County Road 300 East and dissipated near State Road 48.
It damaged several structures and caused extensive damage to trees in its path.
The other areas of the county that were affected were hit by straight line winds.
Those areas include Sullivan, Shelburn, Hymera, Graysville and several rural areas within the county.
