Vincennes-based Helping His Hands is helping again—this time to storm-stricken people in the Chicago regions of Indiana and northeast Illinois The group will work in three places helping those in need—in Merrillville and Elkhart, as well as in Streator, Illinois.
Helping His Hands director Jason Burkhart knows the problem is still there, even a week after the area was damaged. The largest problem was a tornado outbreak that affected the entire region.
Donations are being accepted through Helping His Hands location on Willow Street in Vincennes. The most-needed items are travel size toiletries, diapers and wipes, and other necessary emergency items. They will also accept cash donations, to help meet travel costs to that area.
