Washington Police will increase patrols in school zones as the end of the school year ends, focusing on stop arm violations, speeding, and reckless driving when children are present.
The school zone speed limit is 25 mph, enforced from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on school days.
Funding for these patrols is provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration via the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
