In baseball:
Vincennes Lincoln broke a scoreless extra inning tie at home with a run in the 9th inning, and defeated Castle 1-0. A successful squeeze bunt by Paxton Smith brought in Cooper Collins with the winning run. Colton Winning pitched the final two innings, and got the win, following a scoreless seven-inning outing from Brady Anderson.
LHS goes to 7-4 overall with thie win, and 4-1 in conference.
The North Knox Warriors took an 8-3 lead against Lawrenceville, and held on late, to defeat the Indians, 8-7 at North Knox. The Warriors were led by two hits out of Reed VanMeter in the victory. The Warriors scored all eight of their runs in the second and third innings, and survived a three-run Lawrenceville fifth to get the win.
Coy VanMeter took the win for the Warriors, with Kason Oxby getting the save. The Warriors move back to 5-5 with the win.
South Knox gave up runs in the first five innings, and lost to Northeast Dubois 6-1. The Spartans move to 7-8 on the year.
In softball:
The North Knox Lady Warriors lost 16-5 to Lawrenceville in five innings. The Lady Indians scored 12 runs in the first three innings to take that win.
In tennis:
South Knox defeated Evansville Christian 5-0 to run its record to 10-0 on the girls’ tennis season. Singles winners included Alli Hayden, Reagan Harrington, and Elaina Watjen. Doubles winners were Halle Carmean and Emily Dreiman, and the team of Maggie Vieck and Emily Bloebaum.
The Rivet Patriots got a 4-1 win over Wood Memorial. Singles winners were
Bridget Stine, Bela Pacheco, and Jocelyn Tucker, and the doubles team of Claudia Herman and Jocelyu Thacker.
