Illinois Governor J-B Pritzker laid out is proposal for an over 55 billion dollar budget for fiscal year 2026. The budget outline came in a speech the Governor made earlier this week in Springfield.
Even without any tax increases, the proposal would increase the budget by nearly three percent. Illinois’ Legislative Republicans are coming out against the proposals. One of them is area Illinois State Representative Adam Niemberg; he feels the budget doubles down on sanctuary status for illegal immigrants. Niemberg wants the budget to get away from helping illegals, and do more to help Illinoisans.
Several Republican lawmakers—including Niemberg—also blasted Governor Pritzker for referring to Naziism six times in connection with President Trump.
