Patience is the key virtue being preached for City leaders, with the home football season starting a week from Friday at Inman Field. The Vincennes Lincoln Alices will play at Inman in Week Two that Friday against Evansville Reitz.
The continuing work on nearby Washington Avenue will cause some traffic bottlenecks getting into, and out of, Inman Field. Vincennes Police Chief Jon Hillenbrand encourages people to keep their cool. Hillenbrand compares the probable problems at Inman Field to another cause for traffic backups in Vincennes– trains.
Crews hope to have enough asphalt in place to allow some traffic to enter from the Emison Avenue side of the project. The other entrance will be off Niblack Boulevard into Gregg Park.
