Three people are now charged in a drive-by attempted murder at Autumn Ridge Apartments in Vincennes.
Officers responded to a July 24th shooting at the complex that left an un-named victim shot in the head. Police report two shooters left a vehicle and shot several times into a blue Mazda at the location. The person who was shot had brain surgery at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, and is recovering. The surgery wsa to remove the bullet from his head.
Teh two triggermen are alleged to be 19 year-old Kyvon Ahmed and 18 year-old Calvin Wittmer. Both face five counts of attempted murder in the shooting. A third person, 23 year-old Madalyn Dennis, is charged with five counts of conspiracy to commit attempted murder for her alleged role as the driver of the vehicle containing the two alleged shooters.
Wittmer is also charged with murder in a separate shooting that happened that same night a home on North 14th Street. However, police reports say the murder and the drive-by attempted murder are NOT related.
All three are being held in the Knox County Jail. Both Wittmer and Dennis have appeared in court for initial hearings; Ahmed has not been recorded as have his initial court appearance at this time.
