Indiana Senate To Vote on Near Total Abortion Ban Saturday

The full Indiana Senate is expected to vote on a near total ban on abortions on Saturday.

The measure includes exceptions in cases of rape, incest, or substantial risk to the mother’s health.

On Thursday, an amendment aimed to get rid of the rape and incest exceptions was proposed, but it was voted down after two hours of debate.

One change that was approved would allow the Indiana Attorney General to prosecute violations to the ban when a county prosecutor chooses not to.
