An April 15th jury trial has been set for a man accused of the murder of his ex-wife, and their 14 year-old son. Joshua Penick appeared by video conference for his initial hearing in Greene Circuit Court.
Penick is accused of killing 36 year-old Samantha Jerrell, and their son. Both bodies were discovered in shallow graves Thursday at the Bear Run mine in Sullivan County. A January 30th pretrial conference has been set in the case; Penick is being represented in the case by Jennifer Culotta.
A probable cause affadavit in the case claims that Penick spoke about the incident to his father. However, at this time, he has offered a standard plea of not guilty to the two counts of murder.
