Drought Conditions Could Continue: NWS

The area’s dry conditions could continue for a while, that accoridng to the National Weather Service. Over the last several weeks, the dryness has caused some parts of the area to be considered in drought-level conditions.
National Weather Service forecaster Andrew White feels the conditions will stay as they are at least to the end of the month.
Several area counties remain under a burn ban right now, due to continuing dry conditions. The last rain to strike the area was for the remnants of Hurricane Francine; those passed through late last week.
