The Knox County Area Plan Commission has favorably recommended two notable Knox County development projects at last night’s session.
The first approval was for the Lucky Point solar project in southern Knox County. The positive vote was made with conditions on the developer.
That vote was preceded by a public hearing on the project itself. Over recent months, both sides have argued for and against the merits of various solar plant projects in Knox County.
The vote to approve the Lucky Point development plan was unanimous. It will now go back to the Knox County Commissioners for further consideration.
Also, the Knox County Area Plan Commission has made a favorable recommendation for the Firehouse Flats subdivision’s placement in downtown Vincennes. The approval was for both a Vincennes Redevelopment Commission declaratory resolution and an economic development agreement.
The project is being targeted for construction on the City’s municipal parking north of Vigo Street between Third and Fourth Streets. The resolution also includes a related renovation of the Lincoln House at Fifth and Main. That is the former Dexter Gardiner and Suns funeral home site.
The A-P-C’s favorable recommendation on the Firehouse Flats project was unanimous.
