Indiana Governor Mike Braun has extended a fuel tax suspension to dyed diesel use in various farm trucks and machinery. That suspension was brought on by diesel fuel prices reaching nearly seven dollars per gallon.
Jasper State Senator Darryl Schmitt is glad the Governor helped Indiana’s farmers staring at high diesel prices. Schmitt feels even though farmers get one break on diesel purchases already, the original relief was not complete.
The new executive decision will save farmers an estimated 87 cents per gallon diesel cost this harvest season.
