Water work on the Washington Avenue project phase two will be handled separately from the other utility labors going on now in that area. Vincennes Water Utilities will do their part of the project as part of INDOT’s work next year.
Vincennes Water Utilities general manager Kirk Bouchijefeels doing that with INDOT next year is more efficient than doing the task separately.
Right now, that main road work is set for a late winter or early spring start in 2027. During the road resurfacing, Washington Avenue will be closed to through traffic from Emison Avenue up to and including the intersection with Saint Clair.
