The group Uplift Knox County will celebrate the final work on a set of basketball courts at Lester Square Park in Vincennes. The celebration will be a block party starting at one p-m on Sunday, September 27th.
The courts were funded in large part through a 100-thousand dollar matching state grant through the Patronicity program. Uplift Knox County spokeswoman Allie Bobe says for their group, the Lester Square project is just the start. Bobe also believes Vincennes itself is a perfect place to use the Patronicity grant program to fund various community improvements.
Uplift Knox County consists mainly of people from the former Rotary Young Leaders group.
