A change has been announced to Friday’s Girls Golf sectional at the High Pointe Country Club in Bicknell. Due to expected excessive heat on Friday, the sectional will tee off at nine a-m.
In golf action yesterday:
Vincennes Lincoln lost to Terre Haute South, 185 to 194. Mallory Fisher was low scorer for the Alices with a 41. Seniors Bekah Wilson and Natalie Street shot 49’s for the nine-hole match.
In volleyball:
The North Knox Lady Warriors defeated North Central in volleyball in three sets. The Lady Warriors took the match with scores of 25-12, 25-16, and 25-8. Baylie McCoy led with 7 kills, followed by six from Katie Wolfe. Wolfe also had 17 service points, followed by 13 from Allie Streeter. Jersey Sturgeon also contributed ten digs in the match.
The Rivet Lady Patriots were shut out 3-0 by Loogootee. The Lady Lions won the match 25-9, 25-22, and 25-20. Four kills led the way from Jocelyn Thacker and Danica Hooper. Tkacker and Addyson Fuller had eight digs each.
In tennis:
Vincennes Lincol shut out West Vigo 5-0. L-H-S winners included Carter Johnson, Conner Hahn, and Bronx Carter in singles, and the doubles teams of Brady Allen and Jaxson Newton, and Luke Clark and Gabe Basquez.
In middle school sports:
The North Knox 8th grade football team defeated Linton 36-0. Quarterback Dakota Walk passed for two scores, and ran for a third in the win, along with two touchdown runs from Danny Pryor. The two TD receptions were hauled in by Gavyn Primus and Hayden Clark.
Both the North Knox and South Knox girls’ cross country teams finished in the top five in the Barr-Reeve Invitational. The homestanding Vikings won the meet, with South Knox second and North Knox fourth. Linton’s Sophia Skinner won the meet, with the Lady Warriors’ Raelynn Mundy sixth.
