Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum is responding to various public questions and criticism about the proposed development of Firehouse Flats. The planned apartment area would be placed on the current municipal ground between Third and Fourth Streets from Vigo Street northward.
Yochum understands the questions—but feels more downtown housing space is a better answer. Among the biggest concerns is a loss of parking for those with business in the downtown area. However, Mayor Yochum says those problems are being addressed.
Other public concerns to be considered include trash removal and service vehicle availability in that area.
