Vincennes City Council members are awaiting a potential bond issue request from Vincennes Water Utilities. Monday night, Council approved a request to allow for more potential bonding in a possible document under discussion at this time. The vote to approve was a 3-3 tie, with Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum breaking the tie by voting for it.
Council president Brian Grove voted for the added bonding freedom. He says it doesn’t matter what V-W-U officials do, in the end, Council has the final say. Any bond issue may be accompanied by a water and sewer rate increase. Grove believes both are headed to Council within the next several months.
At this time, Vincennes Water Utlities Board members have not forwarded any action concerning either a bond issue, or a potential rate increase.
