It has been a year since Scott Charleston fully took over as the head of the United Way of Knox County. Charleston was selected last year for the position, and learned on the job for a while before taking the position solo a year ago.
Charleston says the first year has been enjoyable—and educational. Charleston also adds his education has been grounded in understanding the group’s role in fulfilling their three pillars of support for the community.
The annual fall fund-raising campaign is in its first week of setting fund-raising drives for various businesses and organizations across Knox County. The United Way of Knox County will continue that effort from now through the end of this year.
