The State of Indiana has a benefit available to help farmers with land conservation efforts across this area. The state’s Department of Agriculture will be involved in administering the program.
Jasper State Senator Darryl Schmitt believes both farmers and the state’s environment will benefit from the program. Farmers willing to get involved can get up to 75 percent of their cost reimbursed by the State of Indiana. Schmitt says several farm-related activities are covered by Indiana’s program.
