Three teams of Rivet sophomores through seniors are in Washington, D.C. this week for a national tech competition. The three teams all qualified from state level as part of the TEAMS competition again this year.
Max Weiss is a member of one of the Rivet collectives involved I nthe national competition. He says working in the TEAMS competition is a team effort. Weiss is part of the Junior team at Rivet. One of the Senior team members—Bridget Stine—points to her team’s cooperation as a lasting lesson.
This is the second year in a row Rivet has qualified three teams for the nationals. Their qualifying run begin in 2013 under a different formatting system. Rivet also comes off a national win last year in the Mathematics Modeling portion of the competition.
