In baseball:
The Rivet Patriots took a 9-2 lead, and held on in the sixth and seventh to defeat South Knox 9-7 at South Knox.
Brody Shots got the win on the mound, giving up no hits in 5 2/3 innings of work, but did walk nine in his time on the mound. The only South Knox hit was a single from Cooper Neal in the 7th inning.
Shots was active at the plate, with two homers and a double in four hits overall the win. Hunter Bilskie also had three hits for the Patriots. Shots got the win, while South Knox’s Max Harmon took the defeat.
The North Knox Warriors were defeated 13-3 in six innings at Washington. An 8-run fifth inning led to the Hatchet victory. Kason Oxby and Tyler Clark both drove in a run in the Warrior loss.
In softball:
The South Knox Spartans defeated Wood Memorial at home last night 9-6. A three-run fifth reversed a one-run Wood Memorial lead, and led the Lady Spartans to the victory.
. Braelyn Gladish was the offensive sparkplug, with a 4 for 4 night, with two do ubles and a home run. The Lady Spartans go to 12-6 with the wi, and 4-0 in the Blue Chip Conference.
The North Knox Lady Warriors celebrated Senior Night with an 8-7 walk off win over the Loogootee Lady Lions. The win pushes the Lady Warriors to 8-8 on the year, and 2-2 in conference play.
In tennis:
The South Knox Lady Spartans go to 16-0 with a 5-0 win over Evanville Mater Dei. South Knox winners were Alli Hayden, Reagan Harrington and Elaina Watjen in singles, and the doubles teams of Halle Carmean and Emily Dreiman, and Maggie Vieck and Jenna Bluebaaum.
Barr-Reeve has made it three in a row, winning the recent Blue Chip Conference golf meet at Country Oaks in Montgomery. The Vikings took the title with a score of 310, followed by Loogootee at 330. South Knox was two shots behind that, at 332.
Cameron Knepp took top spot individually, with a 75. That was one shot better than South Knox’s Jordan Allen, and Viking teammate Lincoln Miller; both shot 76’s.
Brady Wagler and Isaac Knepp, both from Barr-Reeve, were also named all-confernce. Other all-conference performers were Loogootee’s Paxton Arvin and Noah Hager, and Northeast Dubois’ Jacob Hughes.
