A Vincennes man is facing multiple charges following a vehicle pursuit in Knox County Friday that reached speeds of over 150 miles per hour.
Indiana State Police say 39-year-old Ethan Stantz initially refused to pull over for driving 115 miles an hour on US 41 near Vincennes.
The vehicle exited eastbound onto US 50 weaving in and out of traffic.
When the roadway cleared, the vehicle sped up to estimated speeds of over 150 mph.
The state trooper terminated the chase when he lost sight of the vehicle near Wheatland.
Officers from the Indiana State Police, Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and Washington Police Department remained in the Washington area searching for the vehicle.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. a state trooper spotted a vehicle matching the description parked at the Angle Inn in Washington.
Officers entered the Angle Inn, where the state trooper who was involved in the pursuit identified Stantz as the driver.
Stantz is now being held in the Knox County Jail on preliminary charges of Resisting Law Enforcement with a Motor Vehicle and Reckless Driving.
