William Warder “Bill” Haynes, age 82, of Washington, Indiana, passed away on March 28, 2026, in his hometown. He was born on January 6, 1944, to Orville Ray and Josephine “Aikman” Haynes.
Bill graduated from Washington High School in 1962 and later attended Vincennes University. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1964 to 1970. His years of military service reflected his sense of duty and commitment. A faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Bill found strength and fellowship in his church family.
Bill is survived by his siblings, Barbara “Wirts” Dearmin, Kenneth Robert Haynes (Brenda), and George Aikman Haynes, as well as his sister-in-law, Betty Haynes. He also leaves behind his cousins, nieces, and nephews, who will cherish his memory and the place he held in their family. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Richard Ray Haynes.
Those who knew Bill will remember a man who valued family, service, and faith. His life was one of steadfast presence, and his memory will remain a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
