The National Park Service will receive its largest gift yet, a 100-million-dollar infusion. The Indiana-based Lilly Endowment hopes to announce its initial round of grants by the end of the year, according to CEO Will Shafroth. The George Rogers Clark National Park in Vincennes could be in line for a share of that funding.
The National Park Foundation announced the award Monday, but has yet to determine how the grant will used across its hundreds of sites. Shafroth said in a statement “This grant will allow us to supercharge our efforts to ensure our national parks are for everyone, for generations to come.”
