(Gas price escalation)(Wednesday 3/11/26 … tlz 6a)
Gas prices are escalating in this area, as part of the escalation of the conflict between the United States and Iran. The price of crude oil has shot up to 100 dollars a barrel earlier this week, and for a time, was around 115 dollars a barrel before dropping.
Patrick DeHaan is with Gasbuddy-dot-com. He expects the rising price of oil could push gas prices even higher in this area. DeHaan reminds everyone it isn’t just the war that is causing prices to go up—it is the slowing of traffic a key oil-transit strait on the Red Sea.
Governor Braun is considering a temporary suspension of state gas taxes, if the price continues to go up.
