Walter Roy Jr., affectionately known as Jr. to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, in Washington, IN. Born on April 4, 1968, in Madison, IN, Jr. lived a life marked by kindness, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to those he loved.
Jr. was the beloved son of the late Walter and Sue Roy and a cherished brother to Michael Roy. He was a devoted father to his son, Shane Roy, who was the light of his life. Jr.’s presence was a source of joy and comfort to his family, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
For over two decades, Jr. worked as a truck driver in the construction industry, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly demeanor. His colleagues respected him for his reliability and his willingness to lend a helping hand whenever needed. Jr.’s professional life was a testament to his character: hardworking, dependable, and always ready with a joke to brighten the day.
Outside of work, Jr. found solace and pleasure in the simple things. He was an avid fisherman, often found by the water’s edge, rod in hand, waiting patiently for the next big catch. Music was another passion of Jr.’s; he loved nothing more than to lose himself in the melodies of his favorite songs or to feel the energy of a live music event. These interests brought him immense happiness and provided a soundtrack to the many memories cherished by his friends and family.
Jr. will be remembered as a loving father, a caring brother, and a loyal friend. His sense of humor could light up a room, and his laughter was infectious. Those who had the privilege of knowing Jr. would describe him as loving, kind, and funny—a man who brought warmth and light to the lives of others.
As we say goodbye to Walter Roy Jr., we celebrate the life he lived and the love he gave. His spirit will continue to inspire us, and his memory will be held close in the hearts of those who loved him. Though he may be gone from this world, the stories of his kindness, his laughter, and his love will endure as a comforting reminder of the wonderful man we were so lucky to know.
