A massive winter storm that hit the area over the weekend continues to affect the area, as residents continue the process of digging out. The storm dumped as much as a foot of snow in many parts of the area, leading to impassable roads in many areas today.
Due to this reason, Knox and many other area counties are under a Travel Emergency today. That means all non-emergency travel is not recommended. Knox County Sheriff Doug Vantlin says the best thing for people to do today is to stay home, to give County units a chance to plow the roads. County officials also remind everyone that blowing snow could also impact area roads and highways for the time being.
