The steady work continues on the Washington Avenue project from Kelso Creek to Emison Avenue. The job is now centering on above=ground efforts– including curbing, sidewalks, lighting, and paving. Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum expects the next set of asphalt to be applied either later in August, or early in September. Mayor Yochum also expects the final asphalt work to happen near the end of the project– and near the end of the construction season.
After this part of Washington Avenue is complete, the focus will shift to Phase Two of the work. Phase Two will cover from Emison to Saint Clair; physical work on that part is still a couple of years away from starting.
