Evansville police shared new details Wednesday about an officer-involved shooting on East Louisiana Street on November 22. Officer Nicholas Helfert, who joined EPD in 2021 after two years with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, was involved. Police continue to investigate, handling the criminal review while the Vanderburgh County Prosecutor’s Office oversees it.
