Thomas William Crowley, 69, of Vincennes, IN, went to his eternal reward on Monday, October 27, 2025, at home with loved ones by his side after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Tom was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who treasured time with his family.
Tom was born on November 9, 1955, in Vincennes, IN, to Helen (Deckard) Crowley and the late Charles Crowley. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1974 and married the love of his life, Lissa (Brown), on July 7, 1979, in Oaktown, IN.
He began his career at Prestolite and later worked for the family business, Deckard & Sons Heating and Air Conditioning, before recently retiring from Vincennes University as an electrician.
Tom grew up hunting and fishing with his family, traditions he proudly passed down to his sons and grandchildren. He loved being outdoors—whether hunting or fishing in the early mornings or evenings, scouting wildlife, or walking the woods in search of morel mushrooms. He especially enjoyed sharing the delicious harvest with family and friends.
Tom and Lissa enjoyed traveling together over the years to destinations including Cozumel, Key West, New Orleans, Talladega, Wisconsin, San Diego, Nebraska, Florida, Virginia, and North Carolina. Their most memorable trip was to Okinawa, Japan, where they visited their son Andy and his family. A typhoon during their stay extended their visit, adding to the adventure in the heat and humidity.
A devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Indiana Hoosiers, Tom rarely missed a game on TV or radio and enjoyed attending sporting events in person whenever possible. Just as faithfully, he cheered from the sidelines at his sons’ and grandchildren’s youth sporting events, giving them the same energy and devotion.
Tom leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Lissa; his mother, Helen Crowley; his brothers, Steve (Jane) Crowley and Mark (Ruth) Crowley; his sons, Nicholas Crowley and Andrew (Alesha) Crowley; his five grandchildren: Camden, Joscelyn, Madelyn, Silas, and Nash; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his faithful dog, Gunner. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles William Crowley.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with funeral services following at Fredrick & Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, 313 Church St. in Vincennes, Indiana, with Pete White officiating. Tom will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery. Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes Vincennes Chapel is honored to be entrusted with arrangements. The family welcomes online condolences and fond memories to be shared at www.fredrickandson.com.
