The sound of harvest machinery is being heard across area fields, as harvest activities get underway. With harvest season in full swing, area drivers are reminded to watch for slow moving farm vehicles—especially on narrow county roads.
A run of dry weather has spurred harvest in many areas. Knox County Purdue Extension educator Valerie Clingerman says as the corn and bean harvest ramps up, another crop harvest is winding down– that oi cantaloupes and watermelons. The dry weather is expected to continue at least through much of next week. Also, temperatures will also rising again, with highs back in the 90’s this weekend, and 80’s throughout much of next week.
