The competition ended Saturday in Orlando, Florida for Indiana’s Oustanding Teen, Addison Chattin. Chattin failed to make the semifinals on Saturday, but did win a preliminary talent competition to gain 15-hundred dollars in scholarship money.
Chattin’s mother—Sarah Chattin—says her daughter gained something else while competing—an ability to find herself. Chattin was glad to see her daughter Addison continue the process toward self-recognition all the way through competing for a national crown.
The Outstanding Teen series is sponsored by the Miss America organization. The teen contest itself is open to any girl between 14 and 18 years old.
