George Alfred Kaiser, a pillar of strength and devotion, passed away in his hometown of Vincennes, IN, on July 25, 2025, at the age of 84. A life marked by love, faith, and service, George’s journey began on September 23, 1940, as he was born to Clarence E. and Magdalene “Lena” (Bauer) Kaiser in the very same town that he would one day leave an indelible mark of kindness.
A proud graduate of Central Catholic High School in 1958, George laid the foundational stones of excellence early in his life. His commitment to learning and growth was paralleled only by his dedication to his family. United in love and partnership with his wife, Rose Mary (Cardinal) Kaiser, whom he married on November 18, 1961, George’s family grew to reflect the echo of his enduring love. Although preceded in death by his beloved Rose Mary, his loving legacy continued through his cherished children, Diana (Brian) Graman, Jenny (Keith) Staley, and Fr. Gary Kaiser. The joy of his life multiplied with his four grandchildren, Ethan (Jennifer) Graman, Cody (Alex) Graman, Brianne (Jeremy) Ferguson, Evan (Katie) Staley, and his eight great-grandchildren, who brought endless delight to his later years. Never far from his side was his faithful dog, Jake, a constant companion in his ventures. Mr. Kaiser’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Good Samaritan Hospice for all their care and compassion.
George’s hands, weathered from years of honest work, tended to the earth as a lifelong farmer, partnering with his brother, Clarence, at Kaiser Farms and alongside Rose Mary at Kaiser Strawberries, prospering the soil and souls alike. His skillful touch was also evident in his work as a mechanic and truck driver for Stangle Elevator, and as a respected carpenter with John M. Lane Construction. His work ethic was matched only by his commitment to community and faith.
As a devout and active member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, George served both God and community with an unwavering spirit. His engagement with the Knights of Columbus Council #712, 3rd Degree, and the St. Vincent Depaul Society highlighted his commitment to fellowship and service. His achievements led him to be the 2011 recipient of the Bishop Simon Bruté Award of the Evansville Catholic Diocese. His love for his faith community further materialized through his roles on the St. John’s Catholic Church Parish Council, the Vincennes Catholic Schools School Council, and the Knox County Area Zoning of Appeals. In all realms, he was a figure of steadfast morality and loving kindness.
George lived a life that can best be encapsulated by the words faith-filled and loving. Even in his absence, his lessons of stewardship, generosity, and unconditional love resonate powerfully within the hearts of those who had the fortune to be woven into his tapestry of life. George Alfred Kaiser, a man who nurtured the earth, built steadfast foundations, and harvested love, leaves behind a legacy as enduring and cherished as the land he so tenderly cultivated. His gracious spirit will forever remain a beacon of light guiding his family and community toward a harvest of hope, integrity, and compassion.
