South Knox tennis senior Grace Arnold was part of the annual North versus South Indiana Tennis match in Pendleton. Arnold was part of team that took a set in both singles and doubles competition.
Arnold was one of 24 tennis playing seniors invited to complete. She also finished her South Knox tennis career with 85 wins—the most in South Knox tennis history.
Congratulations to the Tecumseh Lady Braves, as they pick up the Class 2-A state title 2-0 over Andrean. The win continues a recent tradition of excellence for the Lady Braves’ softball program.
The Clay City Eels were defeated Friday night for the state title by North Newton. The Lady Eels fell 20 in a closely-fought title game in Class A. Other state title winners were Indianapolis Cathedral in 3-A, and Crown Point in 4-A.
The Southern Indiana Athletic Conference will be well-represented this weekend at Victory Field, as three SIAC teams will play for baseball state title.s
IN 2-A, the Mater Dei Wildcats will face Boone Grove for a state title, after winning the Semi-state 8=0 over Clarksville Providence. IN 3-A, the Jasper Wildcats will face Andrean for the championship; they defeated Guerin Catholic 6-0 Saturday night to advance. Finally in 4-A, the Evansville North Huskies defeated Center Grove 7-1; they face Valparaiso for the 4-A state title.
