Vigo County Schools Considering Possible New School Model

Is a one high school model coming to Terre Haute? The Vigo County School Board reviewed early findings from a 16-month Gibraltar study that could reshape the district’s schools. The district currently runs three high schools, five middle schools, and 15 elementary schools.
The study recommends cutting that to one high school, three middle schools, and nine elementary schools. The plan is based on population shifts, budget limits, and staffing challenges. Officials plan to discuss the findings further in the coming weeks.
