Vincennes Rivet’s Rachel Jacqumain is headed to the state track and field championships with some momentum, as she won the 400 meter run in the Evansville Regionals. Her time was 58.01 seconds. She also finished 8th in the 200 meters.
Both Knox County softball teams saw their season come to an end. At the Gibson Southern 3-.A sectional, the host Titans eliminated Lincoln 8-4. The Lady Alices were down 8-1, but got back in the game with a 3-run homer from Emma Conningham, but L-H-S could get no closer. Averall, Cunningham would have three hits, including a single and a double along with her 3 run homer.
At the Linton 2-A sectional, the Minors rolled past South Knox 16-5. South Knox was checked on six hits, with RBI hits from Rayce Cates and Katie Goss.
The North Knox Warriors made one final tuneup for their Sectional game Monday morning with a 3-2 win at Paoli. The Warriors reversed a 2-1 deficit with two in the sixth to win it. Levi Pahmeier went the distance for the victory for North Knox, giving up 4 hits, walking one and striking out nine. Overall, the Warriors were held to three hits, but made them count in the 3-2 win.
