The Vincennes Lincoln Alices fell 10-0 to Jasper last night at Ruxer Field. Will Hambrick and Brody Phillips led the Alices with two hits apiece. Lincoln is now 14-7; the two teams will meet next two weeks from tonight in the 3-A Sectional at Southridge. Next up for LHS is the Pike Central Chargers on Senior Night; that will be on Friday.
The North Knox Warriors scored four runs in the final three innings to defeat Wood Memorial, in a 5-4, eight inning game at North Knox. Tyler Clark got the Warrior win; Braxton Yenne had three hits for the Warriors in the game.
The Vincennes Lincoln Lady Alices lost 4-2 in softball to Jasper last night. They are now 9-11 on the year. Matti Collins and Grace Archer both had doubles, and drove in one run apiece.
For the first time since 1989, the North Knox girls won the Blue Chip Conference track meet. The Warriors won with 156, followed by Barr-Reeve at 115 ½. Rivet was third, at 89 ½. Northeast Dubois was fourth, followed by South Knox.
Emma Tellingman won in two events for the Lady Warriors, with Olivia Knable taking one event. Also winning were the girls’ 400 and 3200 relay teams.
For Rivet, their winners were Rachel Jacqumain in three events, with Lissa Willis and Payton Allen taking one each.
