Jasonville Republican State Representative Bruce Bordres has had a bill he authored that is before Govenor Braun for his signature into law. The measure would give tax credits for anyone who makes small nuclear reactors for use by Indiana electric consumers. The bill also requires any new electric startups of at least 150 megawatts to pay for at least 80 percent of their facility.
Borders believes the House Enrolled Act would strike a good balance between needed electric generation, and protection for the state’s rate payers.
