Heating Assistance is available in Knox, Daviess, Greene, and Sullivan counties through Vincennes-based PACE Community Action Agency. PACE runs the local program through an overall federal low-income heating assistance program.
PACE spokesman Courtney Welage says as the weather has turned colder, the number of assistance applications have grown. Welage reminds everyone the assistance is available for all home heating sources.
The help is a one-time credit of up to 300 dollars for your individual heating sources. The aid is available for both home owners and home renters. However, the funding is subject to income eligibility; after qualifying, the heating assistance can take just under two months to be processed.
