The Vincennes Police Department is busy finding new officers to fill four open positions. Vincennes Police Chief Jon Hillenbrand says two of those vacancies are due to transfers to the new Vincennes Community Schools police department. Hillenbrand told the Vincennes Board of Works yesterday the process is already underway to fill those vacancies.
Those applying will be required to take both a physical agility test, along with a written test, to fill a hiring list. Applicants will be ranked in order of hire from a points system based on that testing.
