Twelve first inning runs led the Soiuth Knox Spartans to a 21-4, five inning win yesterday at White River Valley. Evan Hartwick go the win on the mound, as the Spartans go to 2-4. They have won 2 straight, following their `0-0 victory Wednesady over Wood Memorial.
The Rivet Patriots evened their record at 3-3 with a 10 to 4 victory over Loogootee at Saint Vincent Field. The Patriots scored three in the second, and five more in the fifth, the secure the win. It was a good night for Rivet pitching, as three hurlers recorded 12 overall strikeouts on the evening.
Cale Bezy led a balanced Rivet attack with two hits. The Patriots also took advantage of five Loogootee errors in the victory.
The Patriots are 3-3; they are back in action Monday when they face Evansville Bosse.
Vincennes Lincoln’s track team picked up nine first places in a three-team victory over Washington and Barr-Reeve. First-place finishes went to Lauren Story in 3 events; ; Lillian Marley aned Alivia Eaton in two events each; and one-event wins for Ella Wanke and Olivia Johnson.
In tennis:
The Vincennes Lincoln Alices defeated the Rivet Patriots 4-1 last night in Vincennes.
L-H-S took all the singles matches, with wins for Madison Flech, JJ Riggs, and Payton Riggs. In doubles, Rivet took the Number 1 matchup with Jaclyn Campbell and Bridget Stine winning. Lincoln got the Number 2 doubles win behind Callie Turner and Kylee Hendrson.
The South Knox Spartans recorded a 5-0 win over Loogootee. South Knox winners were Alli Hayden, Elaine Watjen, and Reagan Harringon; double3s winners were Halle Carmean and Emily Dreiman, and Maggie Vieke and Jenna Bloebaum.
