Indiana Governor Mike Braun has suspended the statewide sales tax on gasoline for the next 30 days. The move is a temporary order to help those filling up their gas tanks in Indiana, due to high gasoline prices causes the unrest in the Middle East.
The suspension is expected to help with gasoline prices while the underlaying causes remain volatile. Other forces may also be helping; oil prices dropped well below 100 dollars a barrel, due to a reported two-week cease fire in Iran.
Governor Braun has hinted at a possible gas tax suspension earlier, before pulling the trigger earlier today.
